Dr. Jeremy Marcus Ferris, MD

Dr. Jeremy Marcus Ferris, MD, is a board-certified radiologist specializing in diagnostic and interventional radiology. He currently practices in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Dr. Ferris has practiced image guided medicine for the last 20 + years in the Southeast. Dr Ferris attended the University of Mississippi School of Medicine graduating in 2002 and the moved to Birmingham for internship and residency at the Baptist Health Systems. He served as chief resident his last year in training.
After training Dr. Ferris moved to Columbus, GA and began working in private practice alongside Dr. George Lipscomb, who had greater than 40 years’ experience as a pioneer in angiography and interventional radiology in the southeast.
Dr. Ferris went to Emory in 2009 for additional training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
He then returned to southwest Georgia practicing both hospital and outpatient diagnostic and interventional radiology in Columbus and Lagrange. He also served as chair of the radiology department at Wellstar West GA Hospital and Chief of Radiology for Apollo MD until 2021.
In 2022 Dr Ferris returned to the Birmingham area for practice and along with Dr Lucas founded Vascular and Interventional Specialists of Alabama in 2024.

- Current Practice: VIS of AL providing image guided interventional care with hospital affiliations at UAB hospital, UAB Medical West hospital, UAB St. Vincents East and DCH
- Academic Role: Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)
Areas of Expertise/interest: Image guided care for uterine fibroids, vascular disease of the arteries and veins, image guided therapy for internal hemorrhoids as well as general interventional radiology and cancer diagnosis treatment and care.
